The UKAA’s Annual Build to Rent Conference & Industry Awards saw the BTR’s (Build to Rent) most influential companies and individuals come together to share ideas and knowledge with the aim of one common goal – The Pursuit of Excellence.
As the official Media Sponsor for the day, LOFT were granted access to all areas and were able to gain a holistic view of the conference. By sitting in on all seminars, photographing and videoing the full event, covering full social coverage as well as interviewing 20 key players one-to-one provided in-depth insight and knowledge that LOFT will be sure to utilise across our work in the BTR sector and beyond.
LOFT are no strangers to exhibiting our People First furniture at these events, but it is always great to connect with stakeholders in a capacity like this to truly understand what they are doing to contribute to a positive residential experience within BTR.

The Pursuit of Excellence
This was the aptly given headline theme to this year’s conference as the ultimate goal of these events is to collate ideas, skills and knowledge to propel the residential sector further and elevate the residential experience to standards of excellence.
Some 450+ industry stakeholders attended the event, including both UKAA members and non-members. Investors, lenders, developers, operators, suppliers and a range of other parties with an interest in BTR joined together to share expertise, network and uphold the pursuit of excellence within the industry.
By focusing on excellence, the conference supported UKAA’s efforts to drive up standards and showcase best practices across all parts of the BTR sector, ultimately resulting in the improvement of the UK’s rental offering. Examples of excellence in many forms within the sector were highlighted at the event through focused seminars, including a specific focus on equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) as well as environmental, social and governance (ESG).
Best Practice Guide
An invaluable tool that will serve as a guiding rudder for stakeholders all across the residential sector is the UKAA’s Best Practice Guide. The Best Practice Guide is soon to become a beacon of truth and experience within the BTR sector that developers, designers, architects, building operators and all other stakeholders in the sector can refer back to.
It speaks of the best practices across the sector to ensure the best quality of work is being delivered and ensures developments are up to the standard they should be, ultimately facilitating the ‘Pursuit of Excellence’. LOFT are delighted to have been asked to contribute to this guide to share our expertise on interior design within the sector.
